Beta 1.2: The Country Update OUT NOW!

Hello fellow Idle Picker players! I am ​very​ excited to announce the latest update to my game, Beta 1.2: The Country Update. 🎉

I’ve been hard at work adding new features and polishing existing ones to make your experience even better. Let’s dive into the new content and fixes!

🌊 New Areas

I’ve added eight new areas to the game, featuring new scenery and resources to collect. You can now explore the Aquatic Province, Gemstone Coast, Northern Harbour, Celestial Coastland, Heartland, Vineyard Dominion, Silver Hill Region, and Bronze Mountains Province. Each area comes with its own unique foraging and mining blocks to discover.

🌳 New Foraging Blocks

I’ve added 21 new foraging blocks to the game, spread out across the new and existing areas. These blocks introduce new materials and colors to the game, such as redwood logs, berry bushes, and enchanted fern.

⛏️ New Mining Blocks

I’ve also added 36 new mining blocks to the game. These blocks range in rarity from common to rare, and can be found in the new and existing areas. Take on the challenge to collect them all!

🔨 New Tools

To help you collect these new blocks, I’ve added 171 new tools to the game. These include pickaxes, shovels, and axes. Each tool comes in different tiers and materials, allowing you to choose the perfect tool for the job.

🌟 Rare Blocks

I’ve added 12 new rare blocks to the game, which can be found in the new and existing areas. These blocks are unique in that they have a strength of 0, meaning they can be broken with any tool. However, when you do find one, it will stun your tool for 4 seconds. Try your luck and see if you can collect them all!

🌟 Special Toolsets

I’ve also added 12 special toolsets to the game, which match the rarity and material of the rare blocks. These tools are stronger than normal tools and will soon have special abilities that can help you collect resources faster.

🐛 Bug Fixes

I’ve also fixed a number of bugs that were affecting the gameplay experience. These include:

  • Fixed Zinc Ore Pickaxe and Zinc Ore Shovel giving Foraging Fortune
  • Fixed Mining Fortune giving one block too much
  • Fixed Tool Tier XP not being able to be gained when idle-ing
  • Fixed Idle Recap Menu showing wrong values
  • Fixed area purchasing being messed up
  • Fixed block inventory not updating when purchasing tool
  • Fixed area names using IDs
  • Fixed player being able to idle in an area without having it unlocked
  • Fixed Amethyst Axe having a price of 0 (now 70), and Amethyst Shovel having a price of 25 (now 60)
  • Fixed Gold Ore not having a preferred tool type – supposed to be pickaxe, was “ickaxe”, typo
  • Fixed capitalization with Jade Ore tools
  • Minor UI tweaks

👀 Other Changes

I’ve made a number of other changes to the game, including:

  • Internally reworked block, tool, and area creation
  • Tool Stats, Block Amounts, and Block Health now get abbreviated
  • Changed light values of spinning items from 0.49 intensity to 0.37
  • Area Purchase Menu now shows price texts in green color if you have enough
  • Updated tool info window
  • Updated idle menu
  • Updated Main Menu background image
  • “Last played in” save file information now works for versions prior to Beta 1.0
